Dear FOCUS OC Supporter,
On August 18th, we had our annual backpack giveaway from 9:00am to 1:30pm at the West Anaheim Youth Center on Beach Blvd. Each year we give out the backpacks we have collected from the parishes. We helped ~500 kids start the school year off right!
FOCUS OC was serving breakfast of pancakes and bacon and volunteers helped with food prep, serving and backpack distribution.
THANK YOU to all parishioners of St. Mark who contributed to the kids in need!
Sunday June 17th, 2012 Falafel Luncheon was given by our Ladies Guild honoring all fathers for Father’s Day!
As another year comes to a close, we get to hear the closing prayers and announcements in church for a few months! God Bless you and Thank You for hearing the call from the Lord to teach and responding. You all take on a great responsibility each Sunday, we are all grateful to you.
The presentations were all wonderful, each and everyone of them, but I have to say, Kindergarten was extra special! The picnic was a great way to relax with all the families of our parish and I hope it can become an annual event.
This year kids worked on the photography project for Creative Arts Festival.
We studied the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:3-23) in Sunday school and also planted our own fragrant garden to watch it grow (or wilt). All the photos were taken by 5-6 graders.
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
